The Cambridge Crime Harm Index: A Global Progress Report
Since 2016, the award-winning Cambridge Crime Harm Index has been put to work across the UK, US, Denmark, Western Australia, Hong Kong and Sweden. The CCHI offers a way to measure the total severity of crime, as distinct from counting crime reports as if they were all of equal importance. This seminar reviews the differences between crime counts and harm in analysing crime trends, hot spots, most harmful offenders and most-harmed victims. The question is not whether the CCHI meets all needs, but whether it serves criminology better than raw crime counts.
This seminar is open to all interested in attending, with no ticket required.
