Adam Ramiz, an MSt student at the Institute of Criminology, recently published an article in the Cambridge Journal of Evidenced-Based Policing: ‘Detecting Modern Slavery on Cannabis Farms: The Challenges of Evidence’.  

This research suggests that those arrested in houses where cannabis is illegally grown in bulk (in the UK) are often themselves victims of trafficking and ‘debt bondage’.  A summary of this research is available on the University of Cambridge Research News page
