Dear Cambridge Institute of Criminology students, visitors, alumni and friends,

The beginning of the new academic year is always an exciting time and long anticipated milestone for some who arrive in Cambridge for the very first time.   This coming term will be unlike any other staff and students have ever experienced, and many will of course welcome it with a measure of both excitement and trepidation.

Colleagues in the University and in the Institute have been working tirelessly during the past few months in order to plan and prepare for the safe return of students and staff.  We have done everything in our power to create an environment which is as welcoming and as safe as possible.   The Institute is gradually coming to life again and before too long we hope to resume our research and teaching and efforts to make the world a better place through education.   We have started a phased return to the Institute.

Given that we are within a changing landscape in terms of Covid-19, the future is rather uncertain.    Some of our teaching will be online for the time being, but not all of it and we look forward to seeing you before too long. Further information is available on our COVID-19 Information webpage.

We will be continuing a series of online Guest seminars in which you are welcome to participate, and details of these will be advertised in due course.

With thanks,

Loraine
