About
I joined the Institute, as a PhD student, 2011. I had previously worked as a Probation Officer and then as a Lecturer at De Montfort University where I taught and managed academic programmes for trainee Probation Officers.
My research interests, stemming from my previous work experience, are in the areas of community supervision, probation policy and practice, and the organisation and governance of probation work. I teach and supervise on the MSt in Applied Criminology, Penology and Management programme. Both my research and my teaching involve the integration of ideas from theory, research, policy and practice.
I am a member of the Probation Journal editorial board and the steering committees for the McWilliams Probation Lecture and the British Society of Criminology’s network on Probation and Community Justice.
