Masterclass: Instrumental Variable Regression in Criminological Research, 31/05/24, 10am-12noon
A main goal of criminological research with observational data is to draw correct conclusions about the causal effect of a predictor variable on an outcome.
- A key challenge is that the relationship between predictors and outcomes is often influenced by many other variables.
- A statistical approach called Instrumental Variables Regression can sometimes help to overcome this problem.
This masterclass will teach participants the background of the approach and show them how to apply the method to specific situations.
