The Institute of Criminology is delighted the University of Cambridge has been awarded a rating of Outstanding following an OfSTED inspection of the Senior Leader Apprenticeships linked to the MSt in Architecture and the MSt in Applied Criminology and Police Management.
Dr Peter Neyroud, Programme Director for the Criminology and Police Management course said, “we have been on a five year journey with the Senior Leader Apprenticeship linked to the Masters in Applied Criminology and Police Management. Apprenticeships are tough to deliver and OfSTED are tough markers of performance and achievements, so to get a report with five outstanding judgments ranging from teaching quality to leadership and management is genuinely outstanding. It reflects the work of a lot of people, academics, the administration team, the supervisors and, above all, the students, whose work was showcased at the Evidence-based policing conference which was running during the inspection - it is probably unique for an international conference to be part of an OfSTED inspection, but it made the point that the programme’s impact is international”.
The MSt is open for applications for 2025 and we look forward to welcoming a new cohort of students who will continue the learning and the impact on reform and innovation in policing.”
