On 23 April the Institute of Criminology was pleased to host members of the Korea Correctional Service. Bethany Schmidt, Research Associate in the Prisons Research Centre, and Professor Roy King, Honorary Research Fellow, were in dialogue with the delegation on a range of penal issues, including the role of the prison officer, new build prisons and the pressures of a rising prisoner population, as well as the consideration of the quality of prison life in different jurisdictions. The delegation will be visiting several English prisons during their visit to the UK.
