Professor Loraine Gelsthorpe, Director of the Institute of Criminology and also the Director of the Centre for Community, Gender and Social Justice (based in the Institute), has recently been awarded the 2021 ESC European Criminology Award, by the European Society of Criminology in recognition of her outstanding lifetime contribution as a European criminologist.
