Forensic Psychology and…Economy

Speaker: Kelly Hannah-Moffat, University of Toronto

Discussant: Stephen Hart, Simon Fraser University

What is the role of psychologists’ risk-related practices in the wider penal economy? How have their tools proliferated in an expanding market? And what position should psychologists take in – and on – neoliberal criminal justice? Kelly Hannah-Moffat, Professor of Criminology, Sociolegal Studies and Sociology, outlines the relationship of psychological risk practices to the broader penal economy. Stephen Hart, Professor of Psychology and co-developer of several risk assessment tools, offers a response.
