Institute of Criminology


The conference will:

  • Hear about current patterns of practice in women’s centres
  • Critically consider the role of women’s centres in relation to desistance, recovery, rehabilitation and punishment
  • Identify possible opportunities for practice, policy and research development

It will be of interest and relevance to participants from practice and academic backgrounds.


Speakers and panel members will be from research, policy and practice backgrounds.

Conference Schedule:

11.30am-12.30pm Arrival, in-person registration and sandwich lunch
12.30pm - 3.20pm Conference Sessions (online streaming will start at 12.30pm)
3.20pm - 4.00pm Break
4.00pm - 5.00pm Conference session


Online registration

  • It will be possible to register to attend until the conference finishes.

In-person registration

  • There is a limit of 80 in-person places to be booked. In-person registration will close when we reach this limit.
  • There will be a a sandwich lunch provided for in-person attendees from 11.30am-12.30pm
