How to Change your passwords
The Crim network, Hermes and Raven passwords are 'case sensitive' (e.g. password is not the same as PassWord), but PWF passwords are not. Information about choosing a good password can be found at: http://www.cam.ac.uk/cs/docs/infosheets/is6/.
Crim:
Log in to your account and press the keys Control, Alt and Delete together, then select the button 'Change password'. You will be prompted for your old and new passwords.
Hermes:
Using a web browser go to https://webmail.hermes.cam.ac.uk/. Type your username and password and click 'Login'; click 'Manage' on the top menu; click 'Change password' and follow the instructions. NB The Hermes password changing process takes about 30 minutes to take effect!
PWF:
On The PCs (Windows)
Click 'Start'; click 'PWF Programs'; double click 'Utilities', then 'Set Password'. You will be prompted for your old and new passwords.
On the Macintoshes
From the Apple menu, select 'Change PWF password'. You will be prompted for your old and new passwords.
On the PCs (Linux)
Left click 'Desktop' (top menu bar), left click 'GNOME Control Centre' then double click 'Change Password' in the Control Centre window. You will be prompted for your old and new passwords.
Remote Access to PWF Linux
From a command prompt, login using SSH to 'linux.pwf.cam.ac.uk'. Type 'passwd' and follow the instructions. You will be prompted for your old and new passwords.
Raven:
Using a web browser go to http://raven.cam.ac.uk/auth/account/ and follow the instructions.
If you forget your password
If you forget your Crim Password after you have changed it, please contact the IT Officer in Room 2.10 or telephone 01223 (7)62988 (only use the last 5 digits when using the University phone system).
If you forget your PWF or Hermes passwords you will need to call into Computing Service Reception on the New Museums Site to collect a new one (Computing Service location HERE), bringing proof of identity with you. If you cannot physically visit the Computing Service you may try ringing them on +44 (0)1223 334600 to see if they can assist you over the phone. You may request a new Raven password by going to https://jackdaw.cam.ac.uk/get-raven-password/ and clicking on the Raven logo.
