The Institute's Location

In September 2004, the Institute of Criminology moved into modern purpose-built premises on the University's Sidgwick Site. The building houses lecture rooms with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment, several meeting rooms, a computer room, office space for staff and students and the Radzinowicz Library of Criminology, which boasts one of the most comprehensive criminological collections in the world.

The Sidgwick Site is in a quiet, leafy area of Cambridge about five minutes' walk from the city centre. It is located close to the University Library and several of the colleges, and besides the Institute of Criminology houses most of the University's arts faculties, including the Faculty of Law.

The University and College buildings are situated in and around the city. The historic centre of the University – which dates back to the thirteenth century – is near the Market Square and includes a nucleus of ancient University buildings and some of the older colleges. Almost all of the University and College buildings are within easy cycling distance of one another.
